The House

The traditional art of Stone in Lagadia of Arcadia is the expression of the experience and tradition of a people who developed their knowledge on the management and transformation of natural materials such as stone and soil, creating works that have stood the test of time. The region of Lagadia in Arcadia developed this style during the 18th and 19th centuries, leaving an important imprint on the architecture and cultural heritage of the region. The guesthouse “Acrolithos” is an excellent example of this art, as it was built in 1896 based on the original architectural principles.

In the year 2023, its full renovation and reconstruction was completed, utilizing traditional methods and specialist knowledge to reveal a fascinating residence. This impressive building has four bedrooms upstairs and a comfortable sitting room downstairs, with a large sofa bed for extra hospitality.

The impressive stone walls of the guesthouse surround the space, while the wooden tiled roof with Byzantine tiles gives a unique feeling of warmth. The floor, equally neat, is covered with marble slabs both in the entrance and on the upper floor. The internal staircase, as well as the oldest fireplace that has been preserved, add a sense of tradition and authenticity.

This sophisticated structure combines the traditional character of the stone architecture of Lagadia with modern comfort. Its reconstruction has been designed to offer a sense of intimacy and luxury, in harmony with their natural surroundings.
